Does the antique way of teaching ballet make it harder?
I know that just trying to be a great dancer is very difficult, but i´ve heard of really extreme ways of how ballet is taught. How where the old ways of teaching ballet? How are these different from now?
To add on to the first poster:
My teachers would smack us with broomsticks, meter sticks, etc. to make us pull up, would pull us up by the hair if we didn't have proper posture, and I recall one class where we all had to lay on the floor and flex our abs while our teacher (not a small woman) stepped on us with her full weight. We had to do our ports de bras holding raw eggs and if you dropped or broke one there was terrible aftermath. They used to get us in a frog stretch or splits and sit on us (which is dangerous, so don't try it), stack books on us to weigh our legs down, and I had one teacher that would follow you around with a thumb tack and make darn sure your heels weren't touching the ground. There was plenty of weighing (still is, mind you) and yelling and degrading comments (at 112 lbs I was told I had to gain weight, and at 115 I was screamed at for being a ''fat pig''. Charming). I had a teacher that would go around and poke you with a spear (yes, a spear) if you weren't pulled up, and I even had one teacher that would make sure you were using all your muscles by sticking a quarter in your butt crack and making sure it stayed there (that was a weird class). There were plenty of other weird methods I wouldn't recommend, but it'd take days to list them.

Cream colored with black lace heels and black ballet shoes?
I just bought my prom dress and I am now looking for the 'perfect' heels. Does anyone know where I can find some cream colored heels with black lace over it. Also I am going to be using this dress for my theatre banquet. And I want to get some cute black ballet shoes to where with it. The kind that ties up your leg. So if anyone can help me find these that would be amazing! I live in the US and I don't mind buying offline. But my dress was a little pricey so I would like to keep it cheap. Thanks!
I'm not sure if they will have what you are looking to get, but the pricess are really good, try:

which ballet slipper is better for a new ballet student?
its down to capezio juliet leather or sculpture. idk if the sculpture is leather or not, it says its new skin leather, so does anyone know what that is?
they are both split sole, is that ok?
sculpture:http://www.capeziostore.com/Sculpture-p17275.html
juliet:http://www.capeziostore.com/Leather_Juliet-p17271.html
which is best?
merci<333
The Juliet is leather, which I greatly prefer to canvas. Leather lasts much longer, and I personally think it looks better. The Sculpture is a synthetic material, but not canvas. The Juliet is a shoe older than dirt, meaning it has stood the test of time and always been a quality product. The Sculpture is relatively new, and among ym customers, I find it gets mized reviews. The best thing to do is get fitted at a shop fo rthem, at least for the first pair.
